Using Skype for Conference Calls
Randall Associates encourages its customers to use the free software Skype to use for conference
meetings.
Millions of people in the World now use Skype to make free Video Conference calls and all you need is to download the program at no cost and operate it from your PC or Laptop with a Webcam. To use Skype, you will need to have a fast Internet connection. ‘Dial Up’ Internet users will not be able to use Skype effectively.
If you do not have a Webcam, you can purchase one for as little as $20. New Zealand customers – check out the Webcam options at elive. For around $60, you can add a good Headset to use with Skype to get better sound quality.
To save time and money, Skype conferencing is a great way for Randall Associates and its customers to meet. Skype has enabled us to conduct business off-shore without the usual expensive call costs. Even our local customers find Skype conferencing an effective way to meet.
Other facilities Skype allows you to do include;
- Sharing your computer screen. This is useful for training and support purposes.
- Make calls to mobiles and landlines if you buy ‘Skype Credit’. One of our customers has saved hundred of dollars using Skype to call suppliers in Indonesia and India.
- Send Messages.
- Send SMS Messages to a Mobile Phone (requires a Skype credit).
